1. How do I get more information about the scheme?

Have A Break have compiled a detailed information pack which covers all aspects of becoming a host parent. To request an information pack please contact us.

2. What qualifications or experience do I need to become a host parent?

No specific qualifications are necessary however, host parents need to be highly motivated and interested in giving families a break. Any relevant or specific training required will be provided by Have a Break.

4. How long will the assessment home visits take?

2 member of the committee will visit you at home approximately 3 times to complete the assessment. All appointments are made in consultation with families and usually last 1 - 1.5 hours.

5. Do you need to meet our children as part of the assessment process?

Yes, we like to include the children in the process and usually arrange to meet for a short conversation, with your consent.
