HOME SHARING

The National Home Sharing Network

Home Sharing is where Host Carers invite children with Disabilities to stay for short breaks with them in their home. The National Home Sharing Network is an umbrella group for schemes facilitating short breaks by Host Carers countrywide:

The network's role includes:

  1. Creating National Standardised Procedures on all aspects of home sharing i.e. training, assessment etc.
  2. Support to existing schemes.
  3. Encouraging the development of new schemes.
  4. Advertising and researching Home Sharing as a viable option for families.

The network members meet regularly to discuss current topics, organise AGM/Seminars and carry out tasks outlined.
